Is your eye envious?

Series Exposition of Matthew

While God truly honors faithful service, every believer ultimately stands on the same ground of undeserved grace. Through the parable of the laborers in the vineyard, Jesus confronts the envy and self-focus that arise when we compare our sacrifices to others. The kingdom overturns human expectations: the first become last, the last first, and all boasting is silenced as Christ’s generosity—not our labor—becomes our only confidence.
