SERIES Exposition of Matthew

Herod Antipas murders John the Baptist at the urging of of his wife. While Herod is surrounded by power and luxury, his conscience is tormented and his soul impoverished. In contrast, John—imprisoned then executed—is upheld as righteous and eternally secure. This passage contrasts two men and two kingdoms.
